‘Swift’s yahoos- they have come here too’ by Anvita Singh
The streets are bathed
with dirt and blood.
The cries of the naked children
pierce the still calm
of the early morning.
A painful reminder of the events
that took place a long time ago,
when earth was first
trampled upon by the Yahoos.
POET’s BIO
Anvita singh: The poet is a fresh graduate from the University of Delhi in English Literature (Sri Venkateswara College). Born and brought up in the eastern states of Bihar and Jharkhand, she plans to take up writing professionally (hopefully) and insists that the British author of The Harry Potter Series fame, J.K. Rowling is one of the main reasons why she thinks that she too can make a name for herself in the world of alphabets.
