For eight years Preet Bharara prosecuted some of the most high-stakes crimes in the world. Billion-dollar frauds. Terrorist attacks. Russian espionage. These were the cases that gripped America – and he was the man making sure people answered.
In Doing Justice Bharara lifts the lid on his time as America’s prosecutor for justice, showing in intimate and explosive detail how the criminal justice system works from the inside. Spanning history, his own fabled cases and the actions of key players in the upper echelons of power, this is a book about what it means to make the right decisions at the toughest of moments, and about what the state of justice in America reveals about
today.
- Preet’s podcast about justice and fairness, ‘Stay Tuned with Preet’, has over 2.2 million downloads per month and grew 30% over the summer, making it the most popular podcast in New York. As @PreetBharara he has nearly a million followers on Twitter.
- He is a regular commentator on CNN and has just signed for another year in that role. He featured on the cover of TIME magazine as the ‘man busting Wall Street’.
- Appointed US Attorney by Barack Obama in 2009, Preet has worked on some of the biggest American cases of our time. His prosecutions inspired the hit TV show ‘Billions’ and ‘The Americans’, and he famously took down the man responsible for the largest case of insider trading in history.
- A book for business people, political junkies, readers of true crime and serious non-fiction, US rights went to Knopf in a frenzied auction for a seven figure sum. The book will be backed in the US by a huge campaign.
